Sandor Hau , Vice President , Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Sandor Hau is Vice President and Head of the Principal Finance Group (Americas) within the Principal Strategies Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. He currently leads a group focused on investing in both private equity and distressed debt. Sandor’s previous work at Goldman Sachs in New York and Hong Kong included positions in leveraged finance, distressed debt and special situations. Sandor was also a co-founder of HelloAsia Corp, an internet marketing services company based in Silicon Valley.

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he was a Rotary Scholar at Yonsei University in South Korea and has also studied at International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan and Moscow State University in Moscow, Russia.

Sandor’s other activities include being an active alumni member of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity and a board member of the Korean American Family Service Center.

2nd Generation Korean American, born in Los Angeles area but spent the later part of childhood in Alabama. Became exposed to Korean-American community and Korea related issues first in college, participating in the Korean student organizations and KASCON. First trip to Korea (ever) was the summer of sophomore year in college. Although experienced in speaking Korean at home, the real Korean language training came from college classes followed by living in Korea. Today am fluent in Korean and Chinese (putonghua).

The decision to embark on a career related to Asia and Korea happened during the later years of college, and prior to then, had no inclination to Asia.

These days actually living full time in Beijing, China traveling frequently to Korea and San Francisco.

He transferred to Lehman's Korea office focusing on cross-border M&A and debt financings.

In 2001, he joined Merrill Lynch's Corporate Principal Investments team focused on distressed investing and based in Hong Kong. During that period, the team's mandate evolved to include a broader range of asset classes across the credit and equity spectrums.

In 2008, David took over as head of the Pac Rim region for principal investing. Although, he has lived in Asia for the past 12 years, he is still a Jersey boy at heart.

He is based in Hong Kong and analyzes investments in North Asian publicly-listed equity. Prior to joining FrontPoint, Andy worked as an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in the Securities Division in Hong Kong and Seoul. Before Goldman, Andy diligenced direct investments in Asian financial institutions for the International Finance Corporation, the World Bank’s private investment arm.

Andy graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995 with BA degrees in English and American Civilization. He also studied East Asian political economy at Yonsei University’s Graduate School of International Studies.

His areas of focus are Renewable Energy, Non-Profits, New Markets Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, and Investment Tax Credits. He covers underwriting,relationship management, and portfolio management.Prior to this, he served as Assistant Vice President at NCB in the commercial real estate underwriting department. Here, he underwrote commercial real estate transactions for both portfolio and secondary market (conduit) placement

Prior to joining NCB, he was a finance analyst at The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) where he conducted credit and financial due diligence analysis, negotiation, and documentation of various project financing transactions, for restaurant franchise expansions in Russia, Latvia and the Czech Republic, as well as agricultural food distribution facility expansions in Russia, and an airline service startup in Afghanistan.

Previously, Michael was a Vice President at The Corporate Finance Institute where he screened over 140 early-stage companies, assessed their product/service concepts, milestones, funding needs and management teams to make funding recommendations to private venture capitalists.

Michael obtained his BA in International Relations with a concentration in East Asian Studies from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from George Washington University with a concentration in International Business and Finance. While a college student, Michael was on the executive board of KASCON XI in Washington D.C.

Michael lives in Fairfax, VA with his wife, Abigail, and two children, Tyler and Sydney.

Prior to Neuberger, she worked in the Seoul and Tokyo offices of Lehman Brothers' Investment Banking Division covering financial institutions and in the Tokyo and New York offices of Lehman Brothers' Capital Markets Division covering Japanese equities. Before Lehman Brothers, Grace also worked at the Portfolio Analytics Group at Blackrock in New York.

She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in East Asian Languages and Culture from Columbia College. While at business school, Grace served as Sponsorship Director of the Asia Business Conference '07 and was an active member of both the Investment Club and Alpha Hedge Fund. During her free-time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, pop-culture and playing with her maltese.
